*      March 4, 2005: Interpreting Idioms in ASL and English & ASL Mouth Movements and Facial Expressions

*      March 10, 2005: ASL Coffeehouse Experience with Deka Oliver

Deka will present on her life experiences.  The purpose of the coffeehouse event is to create a natural environment where ASL learners can interact with ASL users. .3 CEUs will be offered. For more information, see the attached flyer.

 

*      March 22, 2005: The Use of ASL in Math and Science Classes

*      March 23, 2005: HandsALIVE Talent Show at the Indiana School for the Deaf

The HandsAlive! Young Deaf Arts Festival is proud to announce the 5th Annual student Talent Show.

This formal Talent show encourages ISD students to demonstrate their talents by expressing their creativity and originality through ASL poetry, ASL Storytelling, skits, or ASL Interpretive Song and Dance. This show is open to the public and would be a great experience for mainstream students to interact with their Deaf/Hard of Hearing peers. *      March 29, 2005: Attain Conference, Job Fair, & Expo

This conference will be held at the Indiana Convention Center from 8:30-5:30 and the theme will be “Empowerment through Employment” For more information, check out www.attaininc.org

 

*      April 16, 2005: “"Deaf Culture Revisited: A Community View of Interpreters" Workshop

MJ Bienvenu will be presenting at Goshen College! The workshop will be all day (8am-4pm) and CEUs will be offered. For more information, see the attached flyer.

 

*      August 2-3, 2005: SAVE THE DATE- Deaf Educators Conference in Indianapolis

2005 will be the 2nd year for this annual conference for Deaf Educators. This year, the conference will be held at Hamilton-Boone-Madison Hamilton-Boone-Madison-Education Center, 400 South Guilford Road, Carmel. Last year’s conference was a huge success. If you missed the conference last year, you won’t want to miss it again this year! Put this one on the calendar!!!!
